Job Title: Truck Driver

Summary:

A CDL truck driver is responsible for ensuring that all products being ship are properly secured, transported and unloaded in a safe and professional manner.The Truck Driver performs his duties as if they are the owner of the company and makes safety, quality and production the top 3 areas of focus, in the order listed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Fully understand how to operate and safely drive your assigned vehicle
  2. Ensure contents are properly secured in truck, flatbed to prevent damage/injury
  3. Obtain signatures to confirm and complete deliveries
  4. Stay on predetermined route and ensure timely transport and delivery
  5. Communicate with dispatch as needed
  6. Confirm that the contents of each shipment load match the manifest document
  7. Perform inspections of your vehicle prior to and following each trip
  8. Notify managers of any major maintenance or delivery issues encountered
  9. Follow delivery schedule and rest at appropriate times
  10. Maintain detailed driving and delivery logs
  11. Adhere to company rules and regulations
  12. Obey all applicable traffic laws and drive in according to the weather/road conditions
  13. Comply with ICC and DOT regulations
  14. Make safety a priority at all times

Job Requirements:

  1. Must pass background check and drug test
  2. Skilled at driving and parking large, heavy vehicles
  3. Alert, focused, and detail-oriented
  4. Physically and mentally fit
  5. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. at a time
  6. Proficient using GPS and other routing systems
  7. Map reading and route planning experience along with an innate sense of direction
  8. Self-starter who works well independently and is disciplined, dependable, and resourceful

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  1. High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  2. Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) required
  3. 2+ years proven experience in commercial truck driving preferred
  4. Clean driving record with no moving violations
